AEGIALE
Adrasti, vel ut aliis visum, Aegialei filia, Diomedis uxor, quae, maritô ap ud Troiam bellum gerente cum Cyllabaro Stheneli filio rem habuit; quod ubi Diomedes comperislet, domum reverti noluit, verecundiâ ductus, sed in Italiam vectus, regni pattem a Dauno sortitus est. Quidam dicunt, eam Nauplii, patris Palamedis, suasione adhaesisse alteri. Lycophron autem ait Diomedem Stheneli filio Cometae commisisse domum, et uxorem; Sed Venerem, quia a Diomede vulnerata fuisset, talem Aegialae ἐρωτομανίαν immisisse, ut cum omnibus iuvenibus quam turpissime viveret, praecipue autem cum Cometa consuesceret. Questa est Aegiale, questa est Meliboea relinqui.
Dicitur et Aegialea, penultimâ productâ, Graece Αἰγιάλεια. Eius meminit Dionysius Periegetes in his:
Ε῎νθ᾿ ἥρως ἀφίκανε χαλεψαμένης Α᾿φροδίτης,
Ο῾ππότε τηλίςτων μετεκίαθεν ἔθνος Ι᾿βήρων,
Η῟ς ἀλόχου βουλῇϚι κακόφρονος Αἰγιαλείης.
